Cubic Quotation
A quote from a famous historical figure was typeset to flow around a cube-shaped box.
All the possible routes that the quote could flow across the cube faces were mapped to determine the shapes of the available text paths. The individual words of the quote were also coloured differently and sized to reflect their relative importance, as well as to establish a clear starting point on the cube. The words were then assembled over the faces to follow a path around the cube, with words set at different angles according to a grid based on the stroke widths of the letters.
Ligature glyphs were used in a unique way to wrap words across edges of the cube, keeping in mind that the cube edge would allow the joined letters to be easily read.
A colour palette and font were chosen to reflect the era that quote had come from, in this case Constructivist Russia.
